Welcome! My name is Cassidy (she/they) and I am a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, as well as a Canadian Certified Counselling (CCC) registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

I strongly believe that the challenges we face can teach us so much about ourselves, the ways that we live, and what we want out of life. Exploring these things can feel overwhelming, but it can also help us to build stronger relationships with ourselves and those around us, leading to a more fulfilling life. Even though our challenges can provide us with learning opportunities, they can still be extremely difficult to move through. In our work together, I aim to emphasize both of these things – that we can validate and hold space for the harder things in life, and we can also learn and grown from them when we are ready.

My work is person-centered and places you, the client, as the expert on your own life. My aim is to provide a safe, judgement-free, and nurturing space, where you can show up exactly as you are. I practice from a trauma informed and culturally sensitive lens and incorporate practices from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, just to name a few. My treatment approach is catered to each individual client to ensure that your unique individual needs are being met throughout our time together and onward.

I provide therapy to individuals, ages 16 and up, as well as couples. My areas of focus include emotional regulation and processing, self-compassion, communication skills, relational health, identity and autonomy development, and life transitions. I also support clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, and disconnection. I am trained in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy (Level 2), and work with couples in areas of conflict resolution, building friendship and intimacy within the relationship, and finding shared meaning in life.

Outside of my counselling work, I enjoy doing yoga, going for long walks, connecting with friends and family, reading, watching movies, doing puzzles, playing board games, and cooking delicious meals. I believe that everyone has their own individual work-life balance, and I work hard to maintain a balance that works well for me!

I look forward to connecting with you,
Cassidy
